Fantasy faction relationship map
A political world becomes readable when every faction wants something from another. Start with a crown, two economic powers, two ideological rivals, and a free city everyone claims to protect.
Who it helps
Fantasy writers and game masters planning courts, cities, guilds, noble houses, faiths, and rebel groups whose choices move the setting.
What a line means
Use verbs such as “funds,” “taxes,” “protects,” and “infiltrates.” Add arrow direction when one faction benefits more than the other.
Make politics playable
- Give each faction one current need.
- Show who can grant or block it.
- Change one alliance to start a crisis.
